Bristol Airport all working well early in the morning on departure day. Check in and Security staff all very pleasant. Passport Control on return needs improving - insufficient staff to cope with throughput.

I travel from Bristol Airport on average once a month and have done so for 15 years. The overcrowding situation is getting steadilly worse with security in particular the main bottleneck, but also the departure lounge and Check In, particularly Easy Jet. October 10 was the worsed ever with the queue at 06h30 extending possibly 200 yards. On my return Oct 11 at 22h30, the queue for passport control extended up the arrival stairs and outside of the building. Next month Ryan Air opens a hub at Bristol!!

Is there no limit on the capacity of the airport?

I finally complained to Bristol airport management last week, not only about delays at security and immigration but also about inadequate air-side buses and taxis at peak periods. If they reply, I'll pass it on.
I agree with you that airports should measure / reveal max waiting times, not average as the majority of pax are delayed at the busiest times when the max delays occur.
JB.

our flight was delayed in rather than taking off at 10.00am we were boarded at approx 1.30pm only to sit on the plane for just over 3hours then when we eventually took off we had to land in crete to re-fuel before flying onto egypt.
