flight was delayed xla5106 due to plane being diverted to barbados. told at 6.50 by member of staff to come back in 1 hour. went back to wait at 7.45 and during this time until boarding passes were given, staff stayed huddled together and it was left to passengers to advise other pasengers. we were told the bording would take place at 12.40 but this didnt happen and no announcements were made, only normal board saying flight delayed. was then advised by board to go to gate number at 1.45 where we had to wait again whilst plane was being cleaned anc checked. boarding didnt commence until approx 2.25 and passengers where rushed into their seats. eventually took off approx 3 pm. only £5 voucher per person offered.

Check in at the Virgin desk was painfully slow!
I wish I'd done the on line check in and baggage drop as there was no queue for this.

Why oh why do people still ignore the rules of what is allowed in your hand luggage!! Getting through Security was so slow and very annoying.

Although there was an extremley long queue on arrival into Heathrow going through security, we were moved through very quickly and efficiently. There were 3 rows to speed things up and I was very impressed considering when I saw the queue I expected being in it for over 2 hrs !!

The queue for Passport Control at Gatwick was horrenedous. This was at about 7.15 in the morning and the queue went nearly round the airport and it left us with only fifteen minutes before boarding our plane. I must admit it put a damper on our holiday as it makes it very tiring with all the queueing. I am not a young person and found it extremely difficult standing for such a long time but elderly people must find it very unpleasant. Everyone was complaining about it and although I can see the need for safety of passengers and strict passport control, perhaps more staff should be put on to cope with the amount of travellers passing through.

We travelled with XL.com. We were delayed by an hour an half on the way out to Barbados. On the way home we should of arrived at Gatwick at 5.30am on the Saturday. We finaly landed Monday am at 8.00, thanks to Virgin bringing us home otherwise we would still be out there. Not happy. Checked in to the airport 3 times before we got to fly home.

Appalling queue at security - if only all the x-ray machines were staffed or they had a couple more of them, such a simple thing to fix given the predictable length of queues
