Quickest check-in I have ever experienced! The queue for security was fairly long but moved quickly. All-in-all a pleasant airport experience.

We checked in immediately and had a minimal queue through security. On the return journey we also went straight through immigration without a delay.

Checked in on line and used the drop zone for our luggage - no delays.
Security was quick and easy. The flight was delayed 30 mins no explanation. At boarding, seat numbers were changed for a few passengers because the plane was carrying cargo and the plane was too heavy at the front this caused a lot of confusion at the boarding gate. Flight back to the UK left Tenerife early, all smooth, easy and quick at Luton on arrival.

On average every Sunday evening around 2230 the average queue length for inbound immigration is between 300 -500 people.
According to the police who patrol the queue it is the same every Sunday and guess what - there is no queue for non EU passport holders.

It really is horrific. the queue is nothing to do with increased security - it is simly that the airport cannot cope with the volume of traffic.

Awful experience at Luton and i will not be travelling through this airport again. Car parking and transit is also awful. A totally bad experience. Glad i was alone and did not have children with me.

1. Ryanair opertes 2 desks per flight at LTN, so I turn up no earlier than 75 minutes before departure, so the earlybirds have all checked in.

2. Security - no problem, but the key time at LTN is around 7am. I passed through at around 0530.

3. Immigration at LTN. Arrived back at 2359hrs, so after the peak. But adequately staffed so only a short delay was incurred.
