Inbound immigration at 07.00 was disgraceful. Two officers serving two or three wide bodied aircraft arriving within minutes of each other. Some passengers at the back were held back by others arriving from a diffferent direction joining the queue nearer the front so delaying our flight getting to the desk. It took an hour and fifteen minutes to after getting off the plane to get out of the Terminal | | ............................................................................................................................................................................................. |

CHECK IN WAS CHAOS WITH SO MANY PEOPLE SO I ASKED A STAFF MEMBER OF FLYBE TO HELP ME DO COMPUTER CHECKIN-THAT WENT OK BUT THEN THE SECURITY QUEUES WERE HORRENDOUS IT TOOK A NEARLY AN HOUR TO GET THROUGH LEAVING ME NO TIME BUT TO BOARD AND THIS FOR AN INTERNAL FLIGHT. | | | | | Posted on 17 October 2007 06:43 | | | I travel at least 3 times a month to various countries, Manchester airport is a disgrace the queues are ridicules, terminal 1 & 2 are not adequate by a long way and the staff are no better, typical English disease! , passengers come last. It could be worse “Heathrow which is filthy” could be our nearest airport

We departed from Manchester to Paris on our honeymoon on 1st October, checkin was fine, but had to queue for AGES to get through security, felt sorry for this poor woman travelling with 3 small children, one in a carryseat, sound asleep as she had to take him out and wake him up, so he then screamed for the following hour and a half, and she looked very frantic! Worse still was returning, we arrived in Manchester at 21.45 at night on 8th October, and obviously about 3 other plans had landed around the same time, wakled through the doors to find the most enormous immigration queues, for Eu passport holders. Took us about 90 minutes to get through, there were only 3 staff working, and when we eventually got to the front, they didn't even bloody look at the passports properly! Mine was upside down! And what else makes me laugh is that if you are non-res, there is a special bit for you and you get to walk straight through, no queues or anything! Its a disgrace! Don't pay any taxes, don't queue, but be a good english citizen, give the government all your money, and queue for hours! I tell you, there were about 500 - 600 of us in that small room, perfect place for any terrorist to let off a bomb, with us all crowded together. Where is the sense! We were checked 3 times at the other end, all we did was get off the plane, so what do you think we could have done in that time? If they knew there were so many plans arriving, why the hell didn't they have more people on. Then by the time we got through the other side, our bags had obviously been going round for ages (lucky they weren't nicked by the ones who didn't have to queue) and this airport lady was taking them all off the carousel and putting them in left luggage! They weren't left, we had just been stuck in immigration for hours! Really ruins the relaxingness of a holiday, makes you not want to travel again! | | ............................................................................................................................................................................................. |

The only thing I would raise is the queue we were in was for Monach flights ( not just ours but all flights) so people in front of you could be on a flight after you.So you could be late checking in because of a wait in a queue - when if only your flight was in that queue it would have been shorter and quicker.I would of thought it was more efficient for the check i clerk for all the same flight was checked in together not different flights mixed up. In the uk side this didn't cause any worry but our transport in Cyprus was late pcking us up and the queues there were much bigger by the time we got to the desk we were actually only 1hr beforethe flight. | | ............................................................................................................................................................................................. |
| | | | | Posted on 09 October 2007 15:46 | | | | The BMI baby flight was delayed by an hour then another hour then we told we would be boarding at 2200 then when that time came and went the flight was cancelled supposedly due to fog suddenly appearing in Cork. The flt# was ww3551 from Man to Cork. My husband is a pilot and when he downloaded a pilot weather report form Cork there was indeed fog but this had been clearly forcasted hours before. Why did BMI Baby not reschedule another aircraft to depart Man on time before the fog appearedor alternatively cancel the flight 4 hours earlier so that people could have flown with another airline if their journey was urgent as our was. | | ............................................................................................................................................................................................. |
