Missed my flight because of delays on security. Nobody wanted to help. Just said that I should make a complaint online to BAA. I was desperated. I had to buy another ticket (almost £500) and stay more than 10 hours in Standsted airport with a 3 year old. And if I did not have a credit card? Missed 1 day of my holiday. Made a complaint last Monday.

Horrible, stressful experience travelling with 3 small children. Arrived 2.5 hrs before flight but as soon as we had got through security (no bags available for liquids!) saw final call for our flight - 50 mins early! Rude, unhelpful airport staff herded us on to the plane only for it to depart 15 mins late! Vow never to travel from Stansted again!

If Stansted's average check-in is 21 mins as quoted in the report, many people got through there before they arrived !! My niece travelled the same route to Nice a week earlier and check-in took 1h 30m and she almost missed the flight.

20 july one of busiest dayds of year at security only 2/3 of xrays machines in use .Disgraceful.There are large numbers of students looking for jobs.Is BAA too cost sensative to provide a basic service??

over 2 hrs to get through check in and security for a 55 min flight to Kerry, Eire from Stansted

We have a 4yr old and a 4mth old who luckily were pretty well behaved for the 2 hr wait that day

What i can't understand is why approx 3 or 4 security machines/lanes were unmanned?

I think the British airport authorities (particularly in relation to Stansted and Heathrow which i use most often unfortunately) treat the travelling public with contempt and total disrespect and the situation needs to be addressed
