Long, long queue for check in which was very, very slow and the pre-booked seats were not available although they had been booked for 6 months. By the time we got checked in, been through security and queued for a further 20 minutes to go tho the loo in departures, we had to rush to avoid missing the 'plane.

Qatar Airways a five star airline - not at check in!

I use Liverpool Airport regularly to fly to Italy, and the only real delays I've had would be about 10 minutes to get through security, and upto 20 minutes at passport control on incoming flights.

The outbound flight was delayed by 1 1/2 hours largely due to a shortage of despatchers and buses to get to the planes. Check in and security were both OK. On the inbound flight significant delay at immigration. Only three out of 5 desks were manned and although I was not affected I thought that provision should have been made for those with small children and pregnant women to somehow jump the queue.

Arrived at terminal 2 that appeared to resemble a building site. Areas cordoned off & staff appeared not to be able to direct passengers into the correct queues.

With over 70 check-in desks & hundreds of passengers aiming to get into the departure lounge there were only three security desks in operation where your boarding cards were checked. This meant a bottleneck & QUEUE was created. You then continued into several chicanes for baggage security checks & not all lanes were opened. Again another bottleneck & QUEUE.

The colour scheme is dour & uninspiring. Whoever thought that grey & purple would create a calm & welcoming environment obviously hasn't experienced other international airports where passenger welfare is on par with the commercial factors.

Why are there so few immigration desks & yet so many check-in desks?
Surely the number of passengers leaving have to return, yet the facilities simply create yet another very irritating bottleneck?
When families have travelled long distances the last thing they need on arriving at Manchester is to be stuck in ANOTHER QUEUE listening to an inane announcement about Border & Immigration Control.

Manchester Airport would do well to make sure that passenger comfort & welfare is given the same emphasis instead of seeking to create optimum profits from the inflated pricing structure in departures.

What will it be like when people are trying to go on their "summer" holidays?
Delivering a first class service for ALL passengers at Manchester needs to be addressed now.
