Just like the person stated below, Air Traffic Control Restrictions plays a huge part in a delay, not the airport or airlines fault, heavy traffic over and around the Midlands.
Was a breeze passing through this airport. Easy check in, great staff. great airport. Will always use BHX.

First Choice flight to Tenerife was delayed for 6 hours. Poor information about the delay and refreshment vouchers. 1 announcement made about the latter which I missed.

Just a wizz through, the only thing was we used the Rail station drop off (free) and took the link railcar to the airport . I do think that £1 just to drop a passenger is a bit much. in addition you can drop at the terminals at heathrow?? Is that logical. Got irised on way out so very quick through immigration and , unusually for Birmingham bags came out quick too. Perhaps it would be possible for the airport websites to quote and expected through put time. we would then know when to complain and it would be quite interesting too.

There is an additional delay factor creeping into air travel - this is the Air Traffic delay - once you are in the aircraft -
- eg return from Verona on 29th August to Birm' - 50 mins delay waiting fro a new 'slot' from ATC [TOM2042]- that is 45% increase in the flying time !! -[same happened on outward flight 30 mins ]

Arrived back immediately after Air India 777 hence big delays in immigration- time I registered for IRIS! Check in queues were quite long but moved reasonably quickly.

PS for Checkin, surely much depends on the airline, the handling agent and the number of desks open?
