What travellers had to say about Gatwick Airport

Used on-line check-in but baggage drop took 1:45, not enough checkin staff and broken checkin desks were given as the problem by BA staff.
Not a one off problem as this has now happened on 4 seperate visits.

There were far too few check-in staff in the zone where we were. One member of staff went to lunch despite an ever-lengthening queue. The adjacent check-in zone seemed to have plenty of staff and very few passengers. Surely a very poor use of resources?

I was taking my usual flight to Hassi Messaoud with Astraeus and the queues for security were extraordinarily long that morning. The people on our flight were given fast track passes by JetAir that day and still we took 20 minutes to pass through the security checks. In Starbucks people were saying they'd waited between an hour and an hour and a half to get through security that morning if they hadn't had the luxury of a Fast Track pass.

Horrendous security check-in queues, stretching back through departure lounge. Inconsistent layout caused grumbling and added to stress levels. Eventually the queue divided into 4. 2 of the strands moved through closest checkpoints, 2 remaining snaked round and round and took twice as long to get through checkpoints - very frustrating.
