Security is much better at LGW now, but lets see how they cope in the summer!! I flew from the North Terminal, and had no q's at check in because I checked in online.
Coming back from Manchester into Gatwick was a problem, because we were not directly to the domestic entry but the international where we had to join a very long queue to get through the passport control which we should not have had to do for a domestic flight!

Delays queuing for security and check in were not too bad but the security queue was a bit of a bundle to say the very least. We were already delayed by 9 hours due to the weather the previous day and the airline were unsure as to what time we needed to be at the airport to check in ... some staff said be there usual time (9.45am) for a flight taking off at 9pm that night, others said before 5pm. Flight was VS15 due out at 12.45pm. All reps advised us to get to airport asap and wait around and compensation in form of vouchers for food to be given etc. and would also see about getting us on earlier flight, even though we knew that all flights were fully booked. Security measures very confusing when going through to lounge and no information about the delayed flight displayed on ANY screens in airport - we could only get information direct from airline desk. Then people on security desk questioned why we were going through at 7pm for a flight due out at 12.45pm. On inbound journey my partner travelled on his US passport and he got through immigration at the same time as we got through immigration for UK passport holders.

Security at Gatwick South terminal very slick this morning around 9-9.15. (Checked in online, so no experience of the check-in queues.)

Flight XLA 611V retun to Gatwick was ontime.
However, we had to wait nearly TWO hours before we were able to collect our cases at Luggage Reclaim
