What travellers had to say about Gatwick Airport

first at check in so no queue. If only people would listen when told by all the staff walking the queue asking people to please remove their jackets, their laptops and shoes BEFORE they reach the xray machine. If they did it would shorten these q's by a lot.
I noticed there are extra staff and xray machines at last, but its only March. Once they bring in the fingerprinting as well next month, and the summer season kicks in it will be chaos again!

For the past 14 months it has been my misfortune to use Gatwick to fly to and from BFS on an almost weekly basis. It is by far the worst airport to use (others used over the past 7 years include EDI, GLA and LTN).

Ironically, the security check delays have been relatively minor over recent weeks (travelling through on a Friday at around 1800) at around 10 to 20 minutes. That said it is the ridiculous delays caused on return to LGW when every single domestic passenger is photographed on arrival. This can be done quire promptly or take an eternity depending on the person doing th job. The point is that there are two very clear pinchpoints and one person checking up to 150 people per flight is bad enough but then every passenger is checked again by one person at the bagage collection area. In this 21st Centuty what on earth is LGW playing at it is an appalling arrangement that irritates me on a weekly basis.

Fabulous experience. Clean airport , busy but no queues. Gatwick has got it's act together and is improving all the time.
I noticed additional security lanes had opened since my previous trip in January. These have been totally refurbished to a high standard.
