BIG lesson with BAA - it is better to lie than be honest. Unfortunately Fast Track closes at 2pm at Gatwick. | | ............................................................................................................................................................................................. |

Took over 30 mins just to get to show your passport. This airport is far too small for the numbers of travellers it handles nowadays. Surprisingly on our return at 6.00am on the 13th Oct we were through immigration within 5-10 minutes, and bags out within 15 mins. This is the fastest ever time I have taken through immigration, where you normally wish you were not a UK citizen so you could go through the non-EU dedicated section - always seems to be much less crowded than for those of us arriving in our own country. | | ............................................................................................................................................................................................. |

We checked in on-line. It took about 30 mins to go through the Bag Drop line. As we had printed our boarding cards before hand, going through security was very quick. This was at the North terminal, which maybe easier to negotiate than the South Terminal. We came back into Gatwick around 1.30 in the morning. The longest delay was waiting for our cases, which always seem to be last off where-ever we go! | | ............................................................................................................................................................................................. |

This would have meant I would have missed my flight. I purchased the bag from Marks and Spencers who sold it as being the right size to fit the box grid. I managed to squeeze the bag in the box grid and was allowed to proceed. Other passengers with much larger bags were not questioned. The check in desk should be the deciding authority as they are the carrier to leave it to security at the end of an hour's queue is a nonsense that could not be justified. I have never experienced this at any other airport world wide. My bag weighed 4.5 kilos. | | ............................................................................................................................................................................................. |
