Our flight was 09.05, we arrived at Southampton airport to check in at 07.45. After waiting 30 mins to check in, we were told that our plane had not yet arrived at Southampton and we could check our luggage in but we were not allowed our boarding passes and had to wait in check in area until 09.15. (with no apologies for delay) at 09.15 we returned to the check in desk, and were told that they had no further news and to continue waiting in the check in area until 10.00 - again not one single apology from any member of Air France or Southampton Airport staff. At 10.00 we once again returned to the check in desk to be told that the plane had landed and we would be called shortly. When we asked why some passengers had been allowed through to the departure lounge whilst approx 12 of us were made to stay at check in, we were told that they were unsure why this had happened. Eventually we were called to the check in desk at 10.20 where we had our names read out all in a line (very unprofessional) with our seat numbers 'hand written' on our boarding passes. When we went through to departures we were 'told off' by Southampton staff for being late and that the final boarding call had been made several times. When I tried to explain that our delay was due to Air Fance & check in I was greeted with frowns and tuts. When we boarded the aircraft, all passengers who had not been allowed through to departures (myself & my partner incl) were scattered across the plane in random seats, not even attempted to be sat together. Even a family with a young child were not given seats together - and were told to board the plane and sort it out once on board! In summary, I was totally disgusted with the customer service from Air France and Southampton airport - not one single apology, with rude staff at check in and on board. I can assure you that I will not be flying with Air France again & will not be recommending Air France either.

I use Southampton Airport regularly and never experience any undue delays at check-in or security. A small but very efficiently run Airport.

I am surprised to see Southampton down in the worst list, we have used it 5 times in the last 3 years, and have not experienced any delays.
Check in queues are minimal and security neber busy.
